UK House of Fraser DataSync Community update
As a reminder: House of Fraser launched Inovis DataSync to all suppliers and other UK retailers earlier this year. A considerable amount of time was spent assessing options that would allow all suppliers to comply before making this mandatory program a new term of trade. This was set-out in the letters sent to your business from Colin Porter commercial director of House of Fraser. Those letters, along with an explanatory Supplier Pack and Order Forms, have now been sent to every supplier of House of Fraser. If you don't have a copy you might find that someone else in your business has received the relevant information. Do not worry, you can request another copy right here. If you haven't sent in your order form you must act now. The Inovis DataSync team are here to help you with this program please email them on .
DataSync Demonstrations Update
We have been running 3 demonstrations and training sessions a day in the past 2 weeks just to keep up with the demand. A large number of suppliers have already either been trained or have seen a demonstration of how simply product data can be loaded. Some of those enabled where surprised that we can even accept a simple spreadsheet with the data on before informing House of Fraser they were compliant. From recent feedback they have found this very useful and it has helped them recognise the benefit of the programme. With this in mind we are very pleased with the number of suppliers who have signed up and began the Enablement process since the last newsletter went out.

Divisional discussions
Stephen Jefferies, Director of Retail and DataSync for Inovis Europe, met with the Homewares team on Monday 15th to discuss the program further and answer questions around what the 1st of January will bring.
"Everyone is looking forward to getting product information electronically rather than by the extraordinary number of different methods employed today. These methods can be specific to department/supplier and person so when your dealing with thousands of suppliers across the buying floor I can clearly see why this is being so quickly embraced."
He went on to say, "In a time when efficiency isn't just a distant objective but a shared, mandatory responsibility, to ensure the entire community maximises profitability potential for 2009, it is essential that time and effort is not wasted on the manual collection of product data, manual checking of core data or the constant time and effort expended on incorrect data and the know impact that has across the supply chain. The HOF teams recognise the difficulties they face in changing their own systems and processes, having done it this way for many years, but very much look forward to getting not just basic product information but also more data in the future, such as product images, web pages, order quantities etc."
The Christmas Hamper - continued
The past week or so have seen various suppliers join the House of Fraser community and this just adds to the DataSync Hamper we are still building as we approach the Christmas period.
We thought we'd push the boat out this week and go for a DeLonghi Magnifica Espresso machine from Whittards of Chelsea along with a cool Lyle and Scott Vintage V-neck pullover At that point we had a Christmas Party clothing emergency and closed the Hamper shopping to concentrate on kitting out for a festive night on the tiles..
Karen Millen's silver disc Clutch bag went down a storm in the office and had to be matched with the dark silver sally dress by Coast. Hoisery from the Charnos Boudoir range and the legendary Xen-Tan was an essential for that ultra healthy look. Needless to say said person looked fantastic.
More Hamper fillers next week...
