House of Fraser DataSync End Of Summer Newsletter
A busy summer of DataSync milestones and product data efficiency
As summer draws to an end and we look back over what seemed a lightning quick holiday period; it's that 'take a deep breath' moment, as we contemplate what needs to be done between now and Christmas period to make this year a real success.
The Christmas stock build has started and with the new products and new orders comes new opportunities to improve efficiency. In an economic environment where most companies have less resource to achieve even the same goals as last year, it's imperative that we attempt to avoid any mistakes in the supply of products through this critical period.
Goods that are recognised because they have been clearly ordered in the right multiple quantities at the right price will move through the order to payment lifecycle much quicker than those with costly mistakes. House of Fraser set up the DataSync model to do away with data in hundreds of different formats, data that was sometimes very poor or simply in-correct.
Improvements have started already with the scores of suppliers loading data every month and we want to share this good news with you via this newsletter! Read on and discover how the House of Fraser DataSync community project is coming on and what you can expect next from House of Fraser and other retailers over the coming months.
We will kick off with some great news
It gives me great pleasure to announce that two weeks ago we reached an amazing milestone for House of Fraser and DataSync here in the UK. A number of existing Inovis DataSync suppliers went online with House of Fraser, added even more support to the UK Datasync community and pushed the product data available to download for House of Fraser to over 1 million items. Never before has so much product data been synchronised between retailers here in the UK and their suppliers. Our thanks goes out to everyone who has actioned the request from House of Fraser to improve in efficiency and help us to drive the UK retail community to this important goal.
Buyers and teams are now trained
Inovis have now completed the training programme for the buying teams. Product data is now collected from Inovis before items are created and orders placed. If you don't have your items uploaded you will put extra strain on the buying teams to find this data. If you have signed up to the programme but haven't yet uploaded please do so this week. If you haven't signed up to be trained and helped through this process please contact us at:
Take a look at this 3 minute DataSync video that explains why House of Fraser launched the UK DataSync community.
The Inovis DataSync programme is a shared collaborative platform. The cost is shared between House of Fraser and all the suppliers to House of Fraser. Each party benefits with less product data communication time, fewer errors and quicker payments. Inovis and House of Fraser are also actively promoting the service to other retailers in the UK that you may supply, extending your return on investment. Retailers like John Lewis, Harrods, Harvey Nichols are just an example of retailers that are close to a community launch dates.
DataSync and the syncronisation of product data through DataSync is a term of trade outlined in the supplier pack. House of Fraser has sent three letters to each supplier along with numerous newsletters updating you on the status of the programme. By now you should be engaged with Inovis and have started/about to start the Enablement process.
If you are not in this position yet please contact the HOF DataSync Team without delay on 01772 646 017 or
Inovis and House of Fraser would like to thank you for your support in this project.
