Gained Momentum through Strength of Inovis MESH Platform Coupled with Uptake in Managed Services; Launched Breakthrough Data Synchronisation Solution.
Guildford, UK - 3 November 2008 - Inovis, a leading provider of business community management solutions, has announced that it has surpassed 1,000 customers in the UK for its Inovisworks™ Value-Added-Network (VAN) solution. This momentum gained over the past year has been largely driven by Inovis' ability to meet demand for a modern, stable and secure electronic trading environment with the Multienterprise Expert Services Hub (MESH) platform, which is the foundation of Inovisworks. With MESH powering all B2B communications, customers are equipped with the industry's most reliable and comprehensive Value Added Network that ensures high availability of critical data and the secure transfer of information to meet the latest compliance standards.
Furthermore, Inovis has experienced a 63 percent increase in customers employing a Managed Service based on Inovisworks, and also launched Inovis Catalogue™, the first product data synchronisation application for the UK retail community.
"Now more than ever, customers need supply chain solutions that lead to greater operational efficiency and increased profit margins," said John Redfern, Managing Director, Inovis, EMEA. "Our success in the UK has been a result of the fact that we help businesses operate smarter by taking complexity out of the supply chain and providing on-demand visibility of all transactions. Armed with this intelligence, businesses can proactively - not just reactively - tackle supply issues to directly impact the bottom line and improve relationships with partners."
For example, Bernard Matthews, the largest farmer of British turkeys and one of the UK's top grocery brands, has implemented Inovisworks for a unified electronic trading platform with real-time visibility into all EDI transactions, including taking orders from customers, processing delivery notes and matching invoices. With over 1,500 orders received each week - 90 percent of which are shipped on the same day of receipt - Bernard Matthews relies on Inovis to streamline business processes and increase order accuracy for an expected reduction in processing costs of 20-25 percent per annum. "Over 80 percent of our orders, which account for 90-95 percent of our business, are taken via EDI seven days a week; therefore, it is critical that orders are accurate and our systems are available at all times in order to serve our customers efficiently," said Edwin Pearson, Information Systems Director for Bernard Matthews.
In addition, retailers, suppliers and manufacturers in the UK are increasingly turning to Inovis to manage their Value Added Network communications, driving growth and cutting costs. One keynote customer which has simplified its supply chain - while increasing the number of partners in its network - is innocent, the number one smoothie brand in the UK. Inovis monitors innocent's supply chain through an end-to-end process, from providing network services at the core platform level through to offering hosted data synchronisation to ensure that innocent's critical product information is updated and maintained between all trading partners. This also includes managing the full data lifecycle, from entrance onto the service through to delivery to the recipient. The expert support from Inovis and the scalability of Inovisworks has kept innocent on-track to triple its number of connected trading partners across Europe within one year.
This past year also saw Inovis bring its data synchronisation service to market with House of Fraser, one of the most prestigious names on the UK high street. House of Fraser revolutionised its supply chain to provide all of its suppliers with a collaborative platform that delivers complete and consistent data on all product attributes such as price, colour, size and even multiple electronic images associated with individual items. Inovis Catalogue captures, manages and distributes this information to House of Fraser in a single format, eliminating the need for staff to spend time manually finding, formatting and re-keying data for every product stocked. Working with Inovis, House of Fraser and its suppliers will significantly increase efficiency by eliminating costly mistakes caused by poor data quality and reduce the time taken to capture information by as much as 50 percent on hundreds of thousands of items every year.
"The addition of House of Fraser to our Data Synchronisation platform is an important step in expanding our footprint in the general merchandise and fashion market here in the United Kingdom, and an equally significant move for the industry," said Redfern. "Inovis Catalogue has the retail industry's largest database of product information; with its unsurpassed breadth and reliability, Inovis Catalogue is the cornerstone for global retail product synchronisation, and is a perfect complement to the overall Inovis product portfolio which eradicates complexity from within the supply chain for tangible benefit."
